Senior Human Resource Specialist

Burke & Associates Inc, a division of the Ian Martin Group of companies has an immediate opportunity with one of our clients in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Our client is currently seeking a Senior Human Resource Specialist who will act as a strategic advisor within the organization.  The HR Specialist will be responsible for collaborating with business clients and the HR team to ensure a unified HR delivery approach.  The successful candidate will ensure a high level of organizational effectiveness through ongoing performance management, building leadership capability in the teams, and managing overall talent development with existing managers.

• Key Responsibilities

• Provide change management consulting in support of changing business needs
• Facilitate the building of strong leadership/management and client group relationships
• Partner with the client groups in delivering value-added employee relations support
• Direct the interpretation and application of established HR policies and recommend strategic improvements
• Lead special projects related to the HR and business needs of the organization

• Qualifications

• A broad experience base of all areas of Human Resources
• Post secondary education with a Human Resources designation or equivalent HR experience
• Minimum of five years Human Resource Generalist experience
• Proven diagnostic and consulting skills that have been demonstrated by influencing change with senior business leaders
• Expertise in current and relevant HR legislation
• Proven skills in facilitation and negotiation
• Resourceful and able to work efficiently in a professional business environment
• Strong MS Office skills
